Been a good long while since Mal brought anyone out to the stables with him. He supposes the last time was with Inara; Mal showing off barrel-roping like he was the only one who ever learned how to do it without falling on their ass.

This trip's a bit different. 1 - The woman with him is not Inara. 2 - The woman with him doesn't remember knowing Mal.

As they enter the stables, Mal lets Kitty in first. Maybe, just maybe, she'll remember someone else besides Mal more.

"...And here she is," Mal waves with a flourish to Kitty, even before she's really had a second to look around the cargo bay after passing through the door to Milliways. Wash's crates are still set up from playing ball; Mal will probably leave them like that for a bit.

"Welcome to Serenity. C'mon, we got ourselves a big day planned."
